Setting up Outlook or any other email client using POP3 to retreive emails from AOL can be very helpful, especially  if you would like to have the email client delete emails from the server to free up space. Most web based email account have space limitation and eventually the user will not be able to receive emails any more, until the user deletes some of his/her messages.

Perhaps to prevent that inconvenience with AOL an email client like outlook becomes handy. The following instructions will help you set out Outlook to talk to AOL Server:

POP3 server settings for downloading mail from AOL Mail to any email program (or email service) are:

• AOL Mail POP user name: Your AOL Mail screen name (what precedes "@aol.com" in your AOL Mail address; if the address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , for instance, the screen name is "me")
