“Microsoft Outlook 2010 has stopped working, close program, windows will check for solution”

Some user have uninstalled and reinstalled outlook 2010 and this issue is not fixed.  Outlook program keeps complaining that it stoped working.


We believe that some updates applied to the Office programs has affected Outlook and cause it to crash, with the message: Microsoft Outlook 2010 has stopped working, close program, windows will check for solution”

The first option that you can test is as follow:

• From your run command try to run Outlook.exe /safe

This command will run outlook in safe mode. If you are able to run Outllok in safe mode; then most likely an Ad-in recently installed during the update has cause some incompatibility with the program.

You can disble the plugins (Ad-ins) 

File | Options | Add-ins. Disable any that aren't essential and see if the problem goes away.
