Why Is My Computer Slow?
There is nothing more frustrating than having a slow computer. Isn't that right? A computer that is 2 years old may seem very slow, but 2 years is not an old computer! About 90% of the time when a computer gets slow is because there is alot of infections in the computer ( a windows computer of course), only 10% of issues on a slow computer can be a hardware related...bad hard drive, bad motherboard etc.
When you purchased that computer a year ago, it was not a slow computer. It seemed to be the perfect computer right? So, if it was the perfect computer, why it is not perfect anymore?
Are you saying that the computer is too old now? Is someone telling you that it is too old? The solution is not always to go out and buy a new computer, unless that is the real plan.
Windows systems will definitely get slow depending on how you use your computer (Internet habits, hibernation modes etc.), it is guaranteed that a windows system will start slowing down around a period of six to eight months. This is true even when your anti-virus reports that there are no infections.

Your computer may be infected with mal-wares which makes the computer slow; there may be tons of unwanted services consuming computer resources -this makes your computer slow. Perhaps your windows registry is cloaked with lots of unnecessary software keys.
Another possibility is that you do not have enough disk space to swap files. Every computer system requires certain amount of disk space to exchange data and it uses a portion of the hard drive called virtual memory which simulates ram functions (page files). Not enough disk space, can cause - slow compter!
Some computer manufacturers or technicians made mistakes when partitioned and installed the operating system of your computer. Perhaps your computer is displaying two logical drives (C and D) these computers most likely have one physical drive but were partitioned for a purpose.
The C drive is intended to hold the system files and applications, and the D drive to hold or store User’s data. Because the operating system defaults application installations on to the C: drive; eventually the C drive will be completely full of data and there will be no room to allocate other data for system specific purposes. A computer in this condition will report that there is no more space left, even though there is enough space on the D drive. A solution to this specific situation is to merge the D drive with the C drive. One single partition enough disk space!
Windows Vista is Slow, it is time to Upgra to >> Windows 7
If you are using windows vista, you should ask yourself is it slow as when I first got it out of the box (if this is a new computer)Windows Vista by nature is very slow, and when it gets infected the computer will become slower. Make note of what programs you install on the computer and observe if there is any change due to that installation. Certain applications will make your computer slower. Always verify and try to run the latest software available, and perform the necessary updates.
Windows vista can be tweaked, or tuned up to run only the necessary services. Remove any applications that you don’t need; especially those annoying trial software provided by the manufacturer. Check with your vendor to find out if your computer has a dual core processor. Windows vista by default is using a single core. Enabling the two cores may help with the speed; make sure you have at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
If you really feel that you want to throw that windows vista computer through the windows, then ask yourself if you would like to have a different operating system such as Windows XP, Windows 7 or Linux? Laptop Laboratory can make that happen for you!
